A new chapter in global Tamil media begins on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, with the launch of Talk Back Live, an interactive weekly radio program on Focus Thamil Radio Australia. The program, hosted by Raj Sivanathan in Melbourne and Sulaxhan in Jaffna, aims to provide a platform where Tamils across the world can engage in meaningful discussions on issues that matter to their communities.
With the theme “The Voice That Connects Tamils”, Talk Back Live seeks to bridge geographical boundaries and unite Tamils from different countries through informed dialogue, constructive debate and community participation. Guided by the slogan “Where Every Voice Matters,” the program encourages listeners to express their views, share experiences and contribute ideas that promote progress and understanding.
Broadcast every Wednesday at 9:00 PM (Melbourne/Sydney), the live program will cover a broad range of topics, including current affairs, economic development, education, business, investment, youth empowerment, community leadership, culture, and issues affecting Tamils both in Sri Lanka and across the global diaspora. Special guests from various professional backgrounds, community organisations, government institutions and civil society are also expected to participate in future broadcasts.
Unlike traditional radio talk shows, Talk Back Live is designed to be highly interactive. Listeners will be encouraged to participate through live phone calls, messages and online engagement, making the program a genuine public forum where diverse opinions can be heard respectfully.
